Orchestra established in the 50’s. Started in August 1963 in Cap-Haïtien, in the northern metropolis, with maestro Emmanuel Turenne. The musical director, Charlemagne Pierre-Noel excelled in French songs, boleros and potpourris. His voice filled the Orchestra in all its compartments. He added to the Tropicana repertoire memorable texts such as: “Rosemarie”, “Marie Madelaine”, “Rosie” and “Philomise” and “The Negro”, arranged by Professor Jean Janvier Muselaire. These compositions helped the Orchestra makes itself known, to win and to explore other parts of the country.
