Gerald Maxwell Rivera better known by his stage names Maxwell and Musze).   Singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor. Credited with helping to shape what has been termed the “neo soul” movement along with fellow musicians D’Angelo and Erykah Badu during the late 1990s.  Albums: Urban Hang Suite 1996; Embrya 1998; won the Soul Train Music Award for Best Male Soul/R&B Album 1999 and was officially certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA); then was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album 1997; Now 2001; Black Summer Night 2009.   Six nominations for the 2010 Grammy Awards, winning “Best R&B Album” for BLACKsummers’night and “Best Male R&B Vocal Performance” for “Pretty Wings” nominated and winner for the Song of the Year 2010; Lake by the Ocean nominated for Best R&B Song and winner of R&B Best Album and Best Song 2017.  Winner of NAACP Image Award as Outstanding Male Artist 2010 and 2017. Six times winner of the Soul Train Music Award (1997, 2000, 2009, 2016).
