Jean Leopold Dominique, agronomist, journalist and pro-democracy activist. CEO of Radio Haiti Inter, first to broadcast news, investigative reporting, and political analysis in Haitian Creole. Founder of Haiti’s first film club at the Institut Francais in Port-au-Prince in the 1960’s; co-directed and narrated the first Haiti documentary film: Mais, je suis belle 1961; collaborated with filmmakers such as Rassoul Labuchin; most famous editorial: Bon appetit, messieurs” October 1980; published open eds and appeared on Charlie Rose 1992-1994; collaborated with American filmmaker Jonathan Demme to produce the Agronomist; strongly supported Haitian Grassroots organizations: KOZEPEP.
