Felix Morisseau-Leroy, named Father of Creole Renaissance, poet and producer of numerous plays who succeeded in having Creole recognized as an official language in Haiti in 1961 and was very influential in uniting the community of Miami Florida around Creole and encouraged its study in academia. Former Minister of Public Instruction and General Director of National Education. Most famous poems and plays: Auto a pa rete, Natif Natal, Mesi Papa Desalin, etc. His works are translated in 6 languages.
