Juris Doctorate Degree at the George Washington University Law School where she represented the school as a member of the law school’s trial advocacy team. Master’s in public policy from Stony Brook University. Graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a bachelor’s degree in political and social Science and a minor in child and family studies – 1999. First Haitian American to be elected as a New York State civil court judge. Admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey. Served as a law clerk to Maryland Circuit Court Judge Marcella Holland, presiding over family, criminal and civil court matters. Worked for the Deputy Comptroller’s office under Carl McCall. During her time there, she studied immigration-related issues, with a focus on immigrant’s ability to gain access to essential resources, such as education, employment and healthcare and their impact on New York’s economy. Vice president of a non-profit organization called Eye of a Dream, she works to raise scholarship funds for children to attend private school in Haiti.
