Sculptor and architect. Recipient of the gold medal for excellence at Cornell University in New York City in 1942. One of the founders of Centre d’Art in Port-au-Prince in 1944 and founder of Institut de Sauvegarde du Patrimoine National (ISPN) in 1979, Institut pour la Protection de l’Heritage National. Author of the iconic sculpture of Haiti’s history known as Neg Mawon (Le Negre Marron). Participated in the restorarion of Citadelle Laferriere, Palais Sans-Souci and The Ramiers.
